Sustainable HR development in academia

Wissenschaftlerin

Personality increasingly gains in importance in academia. Extensive demands on professors and young researchers clearly show the need for training in meta skills, such as leadership and self-management competences. The LMU was one of the first German universities to initiate an evidence-based HR development program. Hence, it is pivotal to further investigate how trainings in academia can be conducted most effectively.

Research at LMU Center for Leadership and People Management investigates the following topics:

  • How can HR development be conceptualized and successfully implemented in academia?
  • Which personal and organizational factors influence researchers' motivation to further improve themselves?
  • To what extent are professors and young scientists motivated to participate in trainings?
  • How may sustainability in academic HR development be attained and measured?
